Dr. Alex Afsahi DMD, ICOI
For more than 30 years, dentistry has been both my profession and my passion. My patients and team know me simply as Dr. Alex, and over the years I’ve had the privilege of practicing dentistry in different parts of the world, including 10 years in Dubai, before making Florida home.
What I enjoy most about dentistry is getting to know each patient as an individual. I believe great dentistry is not just about treating a tooth—it’s about understanding the whole person, listening to their concerns, and creating a treatment plan that fits their individual needs, priorities, and goals.
I especially enjoy comprehensive dentistry, where I can bring together my experience in different areas of care to help patients achieve long-term oral health, function, and confidence. Over the years, I have enjoyed providing a wide range of treatment, including wisdom tooth and other oral surgeries, dental implants, Invisalign®, root canal treatment, restorative dentistry, snoring, and cosmetic procedures such as composite and ceramic veneers.
One of the things I love about dentistry is that there is always something new to learn. Even after three decades, I continue to enjoy expanding my knowledge, improving my skills, and incorporating modern techniques and technology into the way I care for my patients.
Dentistry has also become a family passion. I am an especially proud father because my daughter has followed the same path and is completing her specialty training in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry in Maryland this year.
Outside the office, I enjoy audiobooks and podcasts, swimming, working out at the gym, watching movies, and going for walks—at least when the Florida heat allows it!
After 30 years, I still genuinely enjoy coming to work, meeting people, solving problems, and helping my patients feel comfortable and confident about their smiles. That personal connection is still my favorite part of being Dr. Alex.
